Bernalda organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2014, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
Traffic block in Corso Umberto I, from Piazza Plebiscito to the crossing with Viale della Resistenza, from 6 p.m. to 12 p.m. throughout the 2014 EUROPEAN MOBILITY WEEK.
Development of all activities planned along Corso Umberto I:
1) Eco-point: there will be two information points dedicated to environmental awareness, illustrating the advantages of sustainable mobility through informative workshops on how all this can be achieved and the profits coming from waste separation. In addition involving the schools of Bernalda, we will organize the “Recycle Challenges”, during which teams will confront each other in a sorted waste contest with eco-prizes to winners.
2) Bike I love you: Bike lovers will find some stands dedicated to their passion in order to spread the recreational bicycle culture, where everybody will have the possibility to fix his bike for free, as well as giving, lending or borrowing a bike.

Sunday, September 21st, 2014 – Traffic block of Corso Umebrto I from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m..
ArcheoBike: a visit to the archaeological sites, near Bernalda and Metaponto, by bike
Big Picnic: There will be a big picnic along the pedestrian area with a flash mob and the participation of schools, during which everybody will be able to bring checked tablecloth, chairs, folding tables and picnic baskets to have lunch all together.

Car-free day Car-free day

Bernalda carries out a Car-Free Day 2014 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
The zone restricted to the private cars is a street of the town center with a lot of trees. The road will be closed to traffic for about 1.5 km
