Provincia di Lodi organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2014, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
Provincia di Lodi organizes “Waters and castles. Bike tours in the Pianura Padana” in order to improve sustainable mobility both in Lodi and in the green areas surrounding the city. Lodi's territory is particularly suitable to be discovered by bike; so the Provincia di Lodi has collaborated with the local association CicLodi Fiab, that encourages the use of bicycles, and together they have planned four different bike tours.
While responding to the challenge to make our cities cleaner and safer, this proposal focuses on the discovery of the natural, historical and artistic heritage of Lodigiano.

The first tour “Il Convento e il Museo sono Serviti… a Cavacurta” is centered around the agriculture theme: cyclists travel through our breathtaking countryside filled with ancient castles, bell towers and little rivers. The tour visits the Museum Bonum Comedere where people can see the old farm tools used in the past century by the farmers of this land.

The Via Francigena is the unique protagonist of the second tour. Following the footprints of pilgrims, merchants, artists and bandits, sunk in the heart of Lodigiano, cyclists reach the charming Transitum Padi where still today pilgrims cross the Po river on boat.

“Forestiamo!” is the fascinating tour through the Foresta di Pianura, the urban park of Lodi. Visitors can have a great experience of nature discovering the various species of animals that call Foresta di Pianura their home.

The last tour allows cyclists to discover the most famous local family of artists of the Renaissance, the Piazza.
Cycling in the nature across long field of green, visitors can enjoy the beautiful architectures of old farms, mills, little churches and abbeys where are preserved several masterpieces of the Piazza.
