Messina organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2017, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
16, 19, 21 september
Trekking bus in according with a national sports association (UISP) and some high school students.
16-17 september
open events in the freed up public space organised with the support of shopkeepers of the car free area and local stakeholders that explain the clean shared and intelligent modes of transport available in the city.
Information point setted up by the public fleet operator A.T.M. and some high school students, offering advice to local residents about the activities for EU Mobility Week, the special weekly ticket offered and mobility apps for real time public transport information.
16-22 september
Photo Contest. A photography competition (#busgrafandoME ) on the theme "My city from public transport". Participants have to submit a picture of their shared mobility rides, taken on public buses and tram.
18 september
Presentation of adopted permanent measurs.
19-21 september
Information sessions with high school students to promote the sustainable mobility as a lifestyle.
The themes are: car sharing, car pooling, public transport and pedestrian and cycle mobility.
22 september
Working public table with national and regional politicians and representativs of the Municiplity of Messina, the Universities of Messina and Reggio Calabria, the mobility stakeholders, explaining goals and strategies for the future mobility in metropolitan city of Messina.

Messina carries out a Car-Free Day 2017 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
