Gdynia organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2010, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
Gdynia is organising the following activities:
1. at least 6 school trips to the bus and trolleybus depots to teach children about this sustainable means of transport. the trips will include educating children on valdalism on PT
2. conduct a photo contest for public transport users. 10 monthly PT tickets are to be won for the most interesting entries,
3. an express bus line connecting the city center with the furthest districts is to be open on the 22 September
4. a trolley bus day is to be organised on the 18 September to promote trolley buses and distinguish our city as one of only three in Poland as being susainable and eco-friendly in this way.
5. public transport will be free of charge for car users on the 22 September to encourage them to use PT more often

Car-free day Car-free day

Gdynia carries out a Car-Free Day 2010 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
Gdynia will organise a Car Free Day and close for one day one of the most representartive areas of the city - Al. Jana Pawła II road surrounding the most beautiful square of Gdynia.
