Seferihisar which is member of cittaslow (international network of cities where living is good), has been working for environmental policies and Global Covenant of Mayors as a signatory. The entire theme for Seferihisar is about creating new possibilities for bike roads and lowest carbon emission. This year as a Seferihisar Municipality, has been planned a new project for 16th – 22nd September Mobility Week. European Mobility week event will be hosted by Seferihisar Municipality. A Project will be made organize and budgeting by Seferihisar Municipality for a week on September. The aim is about proposing citizen who lives in Seferihisar to riding a bike while able to discover Seferihisars’ local historical, social and cultural life (Seferihisar Memorial House, Children Municipalty, Can Yucel Seed Centre, Sığacık castle, Ancient City of Teos, Hıdırlık Agricultural Development Cooperative) from 16th September to 22nd September. All representatives who participate European mobility week event are going to be chosen by Seferihisar Municipality. Coupon and mileage counter will be given by Seferihisar Municipality to participants who are going to be chosen. In entire of the event, all health service, all material and equipment (coupons, mileage counter) are going to be shared by Seferihisar Municipality Coordinators. The organisation has been planned every day of the week from 16th to 22nd September.

In 16th September, first day, the event will start with Seferihisar Memorial House. All citizens who became eligible for mobility week event will ride a bike from Seferihisar City Centre to Seferihisar memorial house. All the history about Seferihisar Memorial house will be guided by
archaeologist. All participants will be taken information about memorial house. End of the event, all participants will be eligible to take a “1st Seferihisar European Mobility Week Coupon.”

Seferihisar Municipality has been supporting for child friendly cities since 2013. The first Children Municipalty has been founded by Seferihisar Municipality in Turkey. All childrens who live in Seferihisar be able to reach to take an education about art, math or gymnastics. Additionally, Arda Aydoğdu Is 16 years old, and he is a child mayor of children municipality. Child mayor and child council members are able to coordinate the children municipality with Seferihisar Mayor İsmail Yetiskin. The second route will be hosted by Seferihisar Children Municipality. All citizens who became eligible for European mobility week event will ride a bike from Seferihisar City Centre to Seferihisar Children Municipality. All participants will be taken information about Children Municipality by coordinators. End of the event, all participants will be eligible to take a “2nd Seferihisar European Mobility Week Coupon.” Also the event will be immortalized to take a souvenir photograph with participants, child mayor and child council members.

Seed history started in 2009 in Seferihisar. Local seeds which were saved by Seferihisar Municipality have been reproduced in seed centre. Today, more than 300 seeds have been reproducing and saving for local sustainability. Third route will be Can Yucel Seed Centre. All citizens who became eligible for European mobility week event will ride a bike from Seferihisar City Centre to Seferihisar Can Yucel Seed Centre. All participants will be taken information about Seed Centre by coordinators who work in Agricultural Service Department in Seferihisar Municipality. End of the event, all participants will be eligible to take a “3rd Seferihisar Mobility Week coupon.”

Sığacık Castle is a famous historical place in Seferihisar. Sığacık castle has been bulilt by Kanuni Sultan Suleyman. More than 300 householders, who are positioning, have been living in castle. Sığacık has been became a magnet of the region in Izmir by the tourists. The Sığacık Castle will be fourth route for participants. All citizens who became eligible for European mobility week event will ride a bike from Seferihisar City Centre to Sığacık Castle from cycle path which is 6 km. All participants will be taken information about Sığacık Castle by archaeologist. End of the event, all participants will be eligible to take a “4th Seferihisar European Mobility Week Coupon.” Also the event will be immortalized to take a souvenir photograph with participants in Sığacık Castle.

Ancient City of Teos, located in Seferihisar was founded as an Ionian civilization in 1000 BC. It is believed that Athames, the son of Dionysus, was the founder of the city. Teos was ruled first by Lydia and then Persia. It gained its independence with Ionians and had an important role in architecture and trade. Teos was one of the most important of 12 cities in Antique Ionia. There are Hellenistic and Roman period monuments in the ancient city of Teos. Fifth route will be Ancient City of Teos. All citizens who became eligible for European mobility week event will ride a bike from Seferihisar City Centre to Ancient City of Teos. All informations which are about Ancient City of Teos will be given by archaeologist. End of the event, all participants will be eligible to take a “5th Seferihisar Mobility European Week Coupon.”

Hıdırlık Agricultural Development Cooperative is known as a Women Agricultural Cooperative. More than 80 women are member of this cooperative. The aim is about local women’s who live in Seferihisar, to be an active as a social and economical in their life.
For this reason, all women have been gathering under a single roof since 2009 in Hıdırlık Agricultural Development Cooperative. All women are able to reach for cooking or making traditional foods of Seferihisar Cuisine. Women can sell their Seferihisar cuisine that has been made by handmade all around in Turkey with e-commerce. In brief, while all traditional Seferihisar cuisine is made by local women, the most significant thing is unearth the tradition and sustainability. Sixth route will be Hıdırlık Agricultural Cooperative. All participants who became an eligible for European mobility week event will ride a bike from Seferihisar City Centre to Hıdırlık Agricultural Cooperative. All informations which are about cooperative will be given by cooperative director. End of the event, all participants will be eligible to take a “6th Seferihisar European Mobility Week Coupon.”

There will be a mobility week event day in Seferihisar City Centre on 22nd September. This event will be made budgeting and coordinated by Seferihisar Municipality External Relations Office, Directorate of Cultural and Social Affairs Department and Seferihisar Bike Volunteers.
All participants will be gathered under a single roof on European Mobility week event. Coupons and
mileage counter which were given by Seferihisar Municipality to participants are going to be calculated by director. Three participants who saved coupon and covered a distance with bike will be chosen by director, and will be awarded by Seferihisar Municipality. End of the Seferihisar Mobility Week event, are going to be made news on website and Social Medias. The most important aim will be proposing citizen who lives in Seferihisar to ride a bike and to realize less carbon emission in their social life in every year while they discover Seferihisars’ cultural, historical and social resources.
