Zagreb (City of Zagreb) organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2008, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
1. Sport and recreation in the fresh air - At various locations in the city numerous sports activities for all categories of citizens will be held
2. At various locations in the city traffic education for children will be held in cooperation with Police. Education will be held in the fresh air.
3. Demonstration of measuring devices for air quality for kindergartens and school children
4. Demonstration and promotion of Zagreb public transportation clean- fuel vehicle (low – floor tram and bus) accessible to all citizens as citizens choice closely related with reduction of the traffic jam and air pollution
5. Demonstration of Zagreb public transportation accessibility for people with disabilities - 'Logistic mobility network for the people with disabilities'
6. Clean air education for citizens through media – TV spot, press articles, radio shows
7. Presentation of ‘car pooling’ project as project closely related to air pollution reduction
8. Education on prevention of respiratory tract diseases
9. A day for walk on the clean air – education for citizens about importance of mobility and recreation for everyone health (blood pressure measurements, spirometry, the measurement of weight)
10. Cleaning of water and green areas in city districts
11. Enlargement of the green areas (air production) - Planting 300 bushes in 8 city districts

Car-free day Car-free day

Zagreb (City of Zagreb) carries out a Car-Free Day 2008 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
Totally 6 km of streets will be closed for traffic and turned to pedestrian zone (500.000 m2).
