Limerick City and County Council (Limerick) organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2009, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
A School Poster Competition will be organised to focus attention on what choices we can make to reduce carbon emissions.

A media Campaign promoting "improving city climates" will be run through newsapapers and radios.

A Car free parade through the city is organised for Saturday Sept 19th. The public are encouraged to come on their Bicycles , skateboards or walking. Prizes and entertainment has also been organised

Car-free day Car-free day

Limerick City and County Council (Limerick) carries out a Car-Free Day 2009 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
The Zone is a moderately trafficked road running alonside the River Shannon in Limerick City. It will be completely closed to traffic between 8 and 6 on Sat Sept 19th
