Cassano d'Adda organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2012, taking into account the annual theme.
All week
Cassano d'Adda will devote an entire week to the theme of the mobility. In this 2012 European week there will be events for the school students and parents (photographic exposition, video making presentation), for young people (Sunday with the Local Police bike driving school), for the whole city (book presentation and readings, meeting with a local champion of bike) and the opening of a bike sharing service together with a day without car.

Cassano d'Adda implements one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.
New or improved bicycle facilities
Develop public bicycle hiring and sharing systems
Pedestrianisation
Create or enlarge pedestrian streets
Traffic calming and access control scheme
Create park and ride stations
Car-free day
Cassano d'Adda carries out a Car-Free Day 2012 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
The city center will be the protagonist of some of the activities such as the open air Sunday afternoon without car where the citizens will be invited to play, ride their bikes and the young citizens will have some special bike driving lessons from the Local Police officers. On this occasion, the square will be car free.
