As the aim of this year European Mobility week is maintaining sustainable mobility in the urban areas on the Focal theme "Our streets, our choice", Municipality of Strumica, shall join the project "European Mobility week- Our streets, our choice, Sept 16-22 project", and will organize many activities to improve the environment, to promote sustainable transport measures and raise awarennes fo the beneficial use of the bycicles instead of cars. By implementing the activities of this project we hope that the municipality of Strumica will have the chance to improve its transport policies, the environmental issues and will implement as many EU measures and policies as possible. with this project intiative the municipality will take the actions to:
- Promote the existing policies, initiatives and best practices related to
sustainable urban mobility
- Contribute to raising awareness among citizens on the damage that
current urban mobility trends cause to the environment and the quality of life
- Participate in a Europe-wide campaign sharing a common goal and a
common identity with other towns and cities
- Emphasise the local commitment to sustainable urban transport policies.
- Launch new long-term policies and permanent measures
