The kiss & ride concept will be aplied in a school located near the city centre. The goal of this concept is to reduce the levels of congestion and facilitate the load and unload operations.
In paralell, an awareness campaign, through the elaboration of pamphlets, leaflets and other educational materials will be hand out to promote this concept

Additionally, some streets will be restricted to car traffic, which will contribute to increase the pedestrian mobility in the city centre.

Funchal carries out a Car-Free Day 2015 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Some streets in the city centre will be closed to traffic.
