Canton de Vaud organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2016, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
54 communes and all the local and regional public transport companies are taking part in the awareness campaign. I addition, nearly 100 activities are organised all over the State of Vaud. Campaign and details of program:

Permanent measures Permanent measures

Canton de Vaud implements one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.

New or improved bicycle facilities
Develop public bicycle hiring and sharing systems
Improvement of infrastructure (new foot bridges, pavements, road crossings, zebra crossings etc)
New forms of vehicle use and ownership

Car-free day Car-free day

Canton de Vaud carries out a Car-Free Day 2016 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

On Sunday the 25th, the 8 communes of western Lausanne are closing 23km of streets and opening them to sustainable mobility modes.
