Car-free day
Gharb carries out a Car-Free Day 2019 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
The Local Council plans to close all roads for traffic leading to Zjara tal-Madonna square where a number of activities will be organised.
Traffic passing from Church Street will be one way so that one of its lanes will be specifically used by bicycles
During the day, the Council shall also offer transport on demand service (using the Council's electric car) to encourage residents to participate in the activities being organised.
