We will be organising a community activity in a local car park, central to our municipality, to do 2 things. We will be sending various residents off to key parts of the municipality, by different modes of transport, and recording journey times, in order to use the data to a) promote sustainable transport mode choices, b) highlight areas where sustainable modes could be made a likelier choice via some intervention (lighting, a path, a staircase, etc) and c) highlight that sustainable mode choices are not nearly as slow as some people might think. Secondly, we will use the assembly at the car park, to discuss, among the residents of the municipality, further uses for the car park, which is empty most of the time, and could serve for many other activities, at these empty times.
