Alta organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2020, taking into account the annual theme.

16 September
Spontanious ad-hoc campain - "Todays bike-hero -reward" with a mini music corps playing and surprising a various number of bikers passing by on a few pinpointed places. They wil be given a bag og "goodies", inculding bike lights, bike bell, reflecs, bike-magazine, floers, and so on. Between 0730 and 0900 this morning.

The same day we will release an overview over grocery stores, pharmacies and other service points in the town - measuring bike parking facilities.
17 September
Between 0730 - 0830 handing out rewards to bikers and walkers in the "Skoleveien" in Alta - where most youths are on their way to school. They will achieve bike bells, carrying bags, water bottles, bike lights, and a fresh and cold YT drink.
18 September
Between 0730 - 0830 handing out rewards to bikers and walkers at Saga and Gakori in Alta - where the citisenz are on their way to school and work. They will achieve bike bells, carrying bags, water bottles, bike lights, and a fresh and cold YT drink.

In a cooperation with Verte Arkitekter there will be a "parking day" at Alta sentrum this day from 10-19, where groups can arrange their own activity on the parking lot in the city center.
19 September
Demonstration and testing of 8 different electric cars at Alta sentrum. This is in a cooperation with Finnmark Elbilforening and the local carshops. From 11-14 downtown, where you can test all the el-cars for free. At the same time you can have an overview of how far the Finnmark and North Troms region are with the fast charger system, which are supposed to be finished during the september 2020.
20 September
Annonunicing the new Hjertesoner in Alta at Saga, Øvre Alta and AKG skoler. This means there are no motorized vehicles wanted innside the zone which are near the schoolyards.
21 September
Between 0730 - 0830 handing out rewards to bikers and walkers at Tverrelvdalen and Øvre Alta in Alta - where the citisenz are on their way to school and work. They will achieve bike bells, carrying bags, water bottles, bike lights, and a fresh and cold YT drink.
22 September
Releasing the new short cuts with theri new signs that announce "This is a short cut that your who ewalk or bike are allowed to use".

Develop public bicycle hiring and sharing systems

Car-free day Car-free day

Alta carries out a Car-Free Day 2020 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
Parking lot on Alta sentrum, P3, during friday 18`th.
