Fingal County Council organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2020, taking into account the annual theme.

16 September
Launch of a European Mobility Week Photograph Competition. Participants are asked to use more sustainable methods of transport and rely less on their car, particularly for short journeys of up to 1km for trips to school, work and the local shop. Photographs should be taken of people walking, scooting & cycling on these trips and post them online. A winner will be chosen and receive a €100 voucher for a their local bike shop.
19 September
Day 1 of the "Pedal for your Medal" cycling challenge. (runs until the 27th of September as a Bike Week event). Fingal County Council are challenging everyone to cycle an accumulated 50kms over 9 days to claim a bespoke medal designed specifically for this event. It is aimed at families and occasional cyclists to cycle more and accumulate kilometers. Registration is free and there is also a chance to win a €100 bike shop voucher if post photographs of your cycles online using the hashtags #FCCBikeWeek #WeWillCycle #PedalForYourMedal #BikeWeek2020. Bleeperbike have also kindly offered anyone who completes the 50km challenge a month free rides with Bleeperbike.

Staff “5k/Cycle to Work Day”. Cycle to work or 5k for a free lunch. If you don’t cycle to work you can cycle at lunch time using a Bleeperbike from the bike share scheme!

The Dublin Cycling Campaign hosted a webinar series during Bike Week/European Mobility week and on 23rd September the Road Safety Officer and Senior Executive Engineer, Andrew Nolan spoke about the School Streets initiative-the first in Ireland.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
