Activities within the week Activities within the week

Chemnitz organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2021, taking into account the annual theme.

16 September
We will start with a mobility thankyou station which will say thank you to commuters in the early morning. Afterwords there will be the first activity on our parklet within "PARK(T)TRAUM" which is a parking week with different events (e. g. named "Edgar and Edda are playing", "Edgar and Edda are reading" or "Edgar and Edda are asking you for your wishes". Within the NUMIC project there will be built two parklets - one will be realised together with pupils and the other one with citizens.
17 September
The whole week will be filled by offers especially designed for kindergarten groups and school classes. E. g. today there will be a grafitti workshop for children which adresses sustainable mobility as well as green areas. Today there will be also a big Parking Day initiated by traffic turn association. Further we will have a night tour with an old tram including a reading with Arno Luik, author of "Schaden in der Oberleitung". After the successfull cargo bike parade from last year we will again celebrate these bicycyles and musicians from public music school will join us.
18 September
In front of the town hall tourguides will dance within a flashmob. On the parklet the public library will bring books wit its new cargo bike and surprises with a bees game.
19 September
On sunday the online auction for bicycles from our lost-property office ends. The automitive musuem organises a bicycle festival and then will start a tour to the art collection in order to get a guided tour there.
20 September
Together with publils of three classes the author Effi Winkler will write new stories to her book "A king drives by bus" which is about a wheel chair. Further experts will exchange with parents, teachers and pupils about the safe way to school.
21 September
Today and tomorrow the second parklet will be set up on the NUMICO route. The tourist information offers guided tours for people with handicap. Also there will be E-carsharing days.
22 September
Together with acteurs from European Week of Sports the associations and departments from EMW will organise the main activity day and change the Lessingsplatz into a "Bewegte Meile". You can find sport offers, art to participate, thematic puppet theatre, panel discussion, and many more - each focusing the theme of EMW 2021.
