21 September
This last couple of years every last Wednesday in the month a bike event is organized called Critical Mass. This event gathers a large number of cyclists who ride through the city streets. Their goal is to capture the (dis)observance of traffic rules, interaction with car drivers and police interventions to the participants themselves.
Critical mass is riding a bike! It is created when a group of cyclists gather in one place and ride together on the streets of their city.
Critical mass has no leadership. It's a ride where noone is in charge. Everyone is responsible for himself and for the Mass.....
As part of the Critical Mass, this time, beside all bicycle associations and citizens who ride bicycles, representatives of the bike traffic police will be engaged. While driving around the city, the volunteers who will stop the traffic to let the group pass, will give flyers on waiting vehicles with the topic of Bicycle paths..this will increase the car drivers awareness to pay attention to cyclists, but also will increase the city authorities awareness for the general need of constructing the bicycle paths throughout the city.
22 September
The traffic department from Secondary school “Riste Risteski Richko Richko” together with representatives of the traffic department of the Ministry of Internal affairs of Prilep will have joint activities through the city streets (stopping vehicles and distributing flyers with the content for this topic).
