16 September
"European Mobility Week Grand Opening Cycling Tour"
Cyclist from all 81 cities in Turkey, united in Mezitli for the grand opening cycling tour of European Mobility week. All the city officials including our Mayor, Councilors, Directors and employees also attended the tour. The event attracted a great deal of attention from the citizens, cyclists were cheered all along the route crossing the city from one end to the other. The attendees will continue cycling around the city for the next few days to fulfill the main objective of the event; encouraging the citizens to use sustainable transportation for a healthy, positive lifestyle.
17 September
"Sport activities for youth and children" led by the Directorate of Cultural and Social Affairs was organised throughout the day.
The activities of the day were inspired by the motto of "healthy mind in a healthy body". We aim for our children and youth to be healthier both mentally and physically, therefore this day was dedicated to chess and ballet classes, organised by our municipality, free for all citizens. Great interest has been shown by the youth to both courses.
18 September
"Lively Women Cycling Tour"
Women from many organisations came together for this event organised by our Municipality, dressed in all kinds of colorful costumes, cycled around the city to emphasize that women have the same rights as men in every field, to ensure greater visibility of women in society, to give them the opportunity to represent themselves freely and to reinforce the demand for infrastructure for safe cycling. The cycling tour became a colorful parade with great attendance supported by men also, and ended with a public concert.
19 September
"Field cleaning in the Kuyuluk Nature Park", carried out by Mezitli Municipality Directors, personnel, City Council and volunteer citizens. To encourage our citizens and municipility employees support a more sustainable lifestyle, to connect them with nature, to remind them the joy of being outdoors in a clean environment, we organised a field cleaning in the Kuyuluk Nature Park.

"Kindergarten Cycling tour with toddlers"
We know the children are the next generation of our world and the education starts from a young age. Considering this; we organised a kindergarten cycling tour to teach the youngsters the joy of being active and using sustainable transportation.

"Youth Concert, free for all public, Group Rockustik"
In this week where we celebrated The European Mobility Week through many different activities, and welcomed all kind of sportsmen from all around Turkey in our city, We organised a rock concert, free for all, to attract greater attention to the topic of sustainable transportation and healthy lifestyle, to gather and connect people in a positive environment.

Mini Tennis Tournament between the Mayor, the Directors and the municipality personnel.
Unfortunately, employees of our municipality and white collared employees all around the world, do not have the chance to be active through the daily worklife. We organised this tennis tournament to strengthen the social communication between our departments while encouraging active and healthy lifestyle habits.

The Mersin International Cycling Festival begins.
As a part of the European Mobility Week, we organise an international cycling festival, inviting sportsmen all around the world. The Mezitli Pompeipolis beach, which is one of the best beaches in the city, was used as a camping ground for the sportsmen to lodge in. Concerts, dance parties by the campfire, cycling tours in the city, mountains and seaside were organised throughout the four days of the festival. A collaboration of cycling advocates gave safe cycling lessons to children in schools to encourage healthy transportation habits at a young age. The festival was a huge success bringing people of all ages and nations to our city, promoting sustainable transport, active and healthy lifestyle. We believe the public opinion on the importance of a certain lifestyle supporting a low carbon emission by choosing the right transportation was successfully improved.
