Detailed description (English): Copenhagen Bike Festival will take place on 16 - 19 September 2021 with workshops for professionals the two weekdays and various bicycle events during the weekend for the public.
As a participant, you will be able to participate in workshops that shed light on the diverse role of cycling in the green transition, the SDGs, public health and network with bicycle professionals from home and abroad. There will also be a political debate about the future role of bicycling in Copenhagen with representatives from the various political parties.
During the weekend there will be a large number of events in the urban space, such as the Danish Championships for bicycle couriers, guided tours through the city's famous and less
famous places, cargo bike procession, demo of bikes, bike clinics etc.
Copenhagen aims at being the world's best cycling city. And Copenhagen can on many
ways to live up to that reputation due to a good cycling infrastructure and rich tradition of cycling.
Copenhagen is being challenged by many other cities that want to be the leading bicycle cities, and there is therefore a need for new initiatives and initiatives to maintain Copenhagen's status.
Denmark has committed itself to the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals and a reduction of 70
percent of CO2 emissions by the year 2030. The transport sector accounts for a large and ever-increasing CO2 emission, and therefore there is great potential in cycling in the green transition. Copenhagen Municipality's Climate Plan 2025 aims for 50 percent of trips to work or education to take place by bicycle.
Ergo, there is a need to motivate people away from cars and onto bikes and to keep the focus on cycling as a driving force in the green transition. On top of a year with the Corona pandemi, we all need to get out and exercise and get good social experiences. Cycling is an obvious choice to increase well-being and public health.

Detailed description (original language): Copenhagen Bike Festival vil foregå den 16. - 19. september 2021 med to hverdage
