Detailed description (English): The bicycle is increasingly being seen as a potential solution to the problems od air polution and congestion. Every second motorised trip, associated with the transport of goods, could be shifted from cars or vans to bicycles, cargo bikes or cargo trikes. In addition cargo bikes are ideal for use by delivery companies, tradesmen (plumbers, electricians, window cleaners) and municipal services like street cleaning, park maintenance and waste collection.
This workshop is aimed at elected city officials, municipality officers and businesses to demonstrate the potential of bicycles by highlighting how other European towns and cities have encouraged cycle logistics solutions.
Topics to be covered include:
• CycleLogistics is nothing new!
• A changing urban landscape
• The rebirth of cycleLogistics as a solution to making more liveable cities
• Research has proven the potential
• What do we mean by CycleLogistics?
• Where CycleLogistics can be used:
- private logistics

Target group(s): Bike shops, city officials, municipality officers, delivery businesses.
Objectives: Demonstration the potential of using bicycles and cargo bicycles for delivery companies, tradesmen (plumbers, electricians, window cleaners) and municipal services like street cleaning, park maintenance and waste collection.
Expected Outcomes: Growing interest for cargo bikes among bike shop owners and delivery companies.
