Detailed description (English): The “Impfrider” (VacciRider) is a passenger van that drives people to vaccination centres in Luxemburg. The project has been running in 21 communities since March 2021 and has so far transported around 3,600 people of all ages.
The most frequent passengers were elderly people who were restricted in their mobility or who did not have a good public transport offer nearby.
With the "Impfrider", Sales-Lentz not only made vaccination possible for these people in the first place. These people can now participate in public life with less or even without any restrictions again and be as mobile as they were before the pandemic.
People just have to call our call centre and they can book a ride at a time they want. According to the applicable COVID regulations, trips can also be pooled. Vehicles suitable for the disabled are also available, provided that an accompanying person is travelling with them do not has to pay anything.
The municipalities provide this service free of charge and Sales-Lentz bills the municipality directly, without including the companion.
Target group(s): People of all ages.
Objectives: especially to bring older/immobile people to their vaccination facility for free so that they can participate in everyday social life again at all/with less restrictions
Partner: municipalities
