Detailed description (English): In 2014, 49 parties participated in the elections for the local administration in the region Drechtsteden (six cities). As the Dutch Cyclist Union wants them to take good notice of the importance of cycling, they organise a debate about the benefits of cycling.
We will use the UN agenda with the sustainable goals 2030, the proposed European cycling agenda from the European Cyclists' Federation (ECF), the new national agenda 'Fiets' and the programme of the Province South of Holland.
So cycling is important at all levels, thus should also be incorperated in the local political programs.
Target group(s): Politicians and the persons who write their election programmes.
Objectives: To get more attention and allocated resources for cycling in the new plans for six administrations.
Expected Outcomes: More political attention from local media.
