Detailed description (English): I've been doing cycling advocacy since 2011 and since then, city authorities didn't manage to find an appropriate model to maintain not much of cycling infrastructure, but especially not guideposts for cyclists that are spread around my city. I decided not to take part in the bureaucratic game of the city authority anymore, where it's basically more complicated to file a complaint on this matter than to actually clean the signpost. So, I just decided to do it.
Now I clean the signposts for cyclists by myself. Besides that, I use them to post motivational and funny messages for cyclists, in order to get them to understand that somebody cares for them. I believe if these signs were cleaned more often, they would be the target of the vandals less often, as "Broken windows theory" explains". By posting motivational and funny messages for cyclists to an unused background part of these signposts, I hope citizens would find more meaning to these signposts and also in that way avoid putting illegal advertisements or spraying non-senseless graffiti over them.
Target group(s): Cyclists, possible cyclists, pedestrians, car drivers, public transport users
Objectives: Main objective is to help my city maintain the cycling infrastructure, as much as I can, but also to motivate people to cycle more, to support people who already cycle and to promote tolerance between participants of traffic.
Expected Outcomes: Less unusable and dirty signposts for cyclists and more happy cyclists who are aware that there's someone who cares for them, but also greater visibility of Beociklizacija blog in the public.
