Detailed description (English): After an introductory speech delivered by Saipem S.A. CEO on road safety and environmental issues, employees are invited to attend a road safety conference which combines statistical data and shows video clips. The presentation offers a powerful insight into road safety topics and the importance of taking preventive measures, the conference is streamed in Saipem SA buildings.
Electric and hybrid cars are available for driving test around Saipem S.A. compound. Representatives of the urban community of Saint Quentin-en-Yvelines, where the Saipem S.A. buildings are located, present public transportation options available and a selection of smartphone apps.
The driving simulator application allows participants to test their reaction while driving when confronted with unexpected situations (such as when faced with an accident or poor driving behavior by other drivers).
To simulate the effect that alcohol has on one’s perception of objects and obstacles, participants are invited to walk along a marked route while wearing a pair of special goggles, simulating an alcohol level of 0.8 g/l and the other of 1.5 g/l (while the legal threshold in France is 0.5 g/l).
One of the biggest attractions is the rollover accident simulator, which provides very real conditions for participants to experience how it feels to be involved in a rollover and realise the serious consequences of such an accident.
