Detailed description (English): The activity was designed to take 2 days.
Day one:
- research data about the quality of air and water in the area
-research data on the surface of forests in the area
- research data upon site NATURA2000, where the area and school is situated
- preparation of presentations upon the data researched, to see the current state of the art, before the actual visit.
Day two:
- taking a survey about expectations
- parting students into teams and starting the hiking on the tallest hill in the area
- taking different paths to observe wildlife, domestic animal grazing and the effects upon the environment
- taking notes about good and bad examples of ecology
- preparing a photo story of the activity, by the designated "official" bloggers.
- completing the survey expectations vs. reality, upon return
- preparing a poster about the day trip, advertising for the protection of nature through active citizenship.
The activity will have a follow up in spring.
Target group(s): Students between 12-14 years old.
Objectives: - to raise awareness of students and community members towards the importance of a clean environment.
- to observe pollution factors and find ways to fight against them
Expected Outcomes: - to create and encourage active behavior of the students toward the environmental issues.
- to involve local stakeholders in taking action towards a better environment.
- direct beneficiaries to be more aware of the carbon footprint they leave behind and take action to reduce it.
