Detailed description (English): Playing in ‘Fresh air’ – Road to be closed again in order to
promote how less traffic will collaborate into more space to
play in fresh air. A Cycling Treasure Hunt is to be
organised around the entire locality.
EMW Elderly Activity – An outdoor activity for the elderly.
No transport will be provided for this activity in order to
encourage walking and less us of CFC’s. A talk by a
nutritionist will be delivered on the importance of eating a
healthy diet and about the importance of walking and
physical activitity.
Promoting Car Pooling – A full day event by providing free
rides with the Electric Community Van within the village only. This will be
done in order to promote the newly introducted service of a
Community Van and the benefit of using it in order to have
less use of cars.
Cycling Activity - A “better by bike” activity will be held
encouraging the use of bike as a smarter means of transport.
A bike rally will be organised for kids. A BMX race will also
be organised. The Council will also give an award to the
promising international young BMX athlete Jacob Zerafa,
from the locality of Ghajnsielem, for finishing up with the
winners in the Alpeadria BMX Championship 2019. This
will encourage other young ones to make cycling their
sports.
A pedometer challenge walk in aid of the Malta
Community Chest Fund. Whilst promoting the physical
activity, we will be appreciating our heritage and
contributing towards those in need.
EMW Outdoor Evening – An outdoor evening activity will
be organised by closing the village core for traffic and authorising
all bars and restaurants to place tables and chairs outside. A live-
band will entertain those enjoying the tranquil environment.
EMW - CAR FREE DAY – “In town without my car” A day full
of events. Pjazza Madonna ta’ Loretu and Triq J F
DeChambray will all be closed. The restaurants and bars will
be able to place tables and chairs outside so that the general
public will enjoy having breakfast outside. A military car
show will also be organised.

Objectives: to promote the importance that we use less cars and get back our streets for socialising and physical activity instead for cars
Expected Outcomes: People will appreciate more outdoor activities and will appreciate the fresh air provided in streets without cars. There is a high turnout from the locals as they are showing great interest in the events organised. We are promoting this event on media and distributing informative leaflets to every household.
