Detailed description (English): The new mobility project Berlin was launched in June 2016. The project aims to increase the quality of life in the city. Various sustainable mobility solutions are offered and tested in a targeted manner. Activity weeks and long-term projects were launched exemplary for Berlin on the Mierendorff-Insel in Charlottenburg and on the Klausenerplatz-Kiez, to get local residents acquainted to multimodal mobility solutions and to make them available for them as well as analyzing their mobility needs.
The objective of the project is to inspire all residents on the ground to sustainable upgrade their own environment through innovative mobility concepts and to switch to a multi-modal mobility behavior without their own car. The focus of the model project is the public discussion of future-oriented and already usable mobility solutions for all people in the city. In the model project, among other things, parking space has already been redesigned and permanent car sharing parking spaces have been set up. Prospectively, the findings of the projects will be transferred to other districts in Berlin and further cities.
During the activity days on September 16 and 17, 2017, all interested people can get information about the project and participate in a joint discussion about future-oriented transport and mobility solutions. DriveNow is represented with an information stand to get people acquainted with flexible car sharing as an alternative to their own car. Together with other mobility providers, such as bike or scooter sharing, a comprehensive picture of multimodal, sustainable mobility solutions is drawn.
