Detailed description (English): This year, the 20th edition of EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK focuses on the safety and healthiness of sustainable mobility choices.
On this occasion, through the initiative 'Make in South - Fall Edition!', 4GoodCause (innovative startup with a social vocation for environmental protection), with its partners Isola Catania, Legambiente Catania, Associazione Guide Catanesi, Ustep, Ecoistituto Siciliano, and P095, aims to encourage citizens to keep physically and mentally fit by offering a guided walk in the streets of the historic center of Catania so to explore the beauties of the city. The goal is to raise awareness on environmental protection in the city and the health of its citizens, and how choosing alternative, eco-friendly means to travel is beneficial to this.
Indeed, the slogan of this edition "Move sustainable.... and healthy" is also an invitation to celebrate the resilience of the city, which is too often challenged by smog and excessive car traffic. The goal is to encourage an increase in active mobility (walking and cycling) and the use of low or zero-emission mobility.
Furthermore, the event will focus on the creation of pedestrian areas and the consequent urban regeneration of some squares in the historic center, in particular Piazza Cardinale Pappalardo, where Palazzo Biscari is situated and where the Make in South - Fall Edition of Isola Catania will be taking place.
The event will end with a buffet offered by NaturaSì in Piazza Cardinale Pappalardo.
