Detailed description (English): Despite the fact that Covid impacts, To revive the tourism through cycling festivals, we are organizing the second edition of the Nepal Cycle festival. As Cycle is the means of the event, there arise some difficulties in between but one can get a closer look at the adjoining environment. The cycle is not just for riding but also connects the majority of issues associated with nature as its chain does.
The second edition of the Nepal Cycle Festival, 28 days long, 1800 km cycling event, is going to start on Sept 10 from Shree Antu of Ilam district and ending on 7 October 2021 at Rara lake of Mugu district. More than 500 people have registered to participate in this festival from 26 different cities of Nepal.
The objective of this festival is to promote ecotourism through cycling. It acts as a catalyst in the process of developing cycle and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure. Also has aims to spread awareness of climate change.
Why Cycle?
The cycle offers three major benefits, there are:
Economical Benefit: If you cycle daily, the supply of 1 liter of petrol per day will be less, which means you will save Rs 3,000 per month.
Health Benefit: You can stay healthy by cycling 20 to 25 kilometers daily to go home-school, home-college, home-office, or park.
Environmental Benefit: Adding 1 liter of petrol a day requires 6 to 8 trees to consume the carbon dioxide emitted from it. Therefore, reducing the use of 1 liter of petrol by cycling is equivalent to planting 6 to 8 trees.
