Detailed description (English): In the context of the European Mobility Week 2015, the Hellenic Institute of Transport (HIT) of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), organizes introductory seminars relevant to the concept and culture of Sustainable Mobility.
The Seminars are addressed to Elementary and High School students enabling them to be informed and sensitized to the use of alternative and environmental friendly modes of transport that save energy, do not pollute the environment and upgrade the quality of life for all residents in urban centers and crowded cities. Elementary and High schools from Thessaloniki are invited to participate and choose one day beteween 16-22 of September.
The seminars include a presentation of an audiovisual interactive educational tool etitled "Introducing Sustainable Urban Mobility" which was designed and developed by HIT.
At the end of the seminars all students are encouraged to participate to an "internal contest" by proposing a slogan which promotes alternative modes of transport. All slogans are assessed by a committee composed by HIT's researchers experts on sustanable mobility issues and the best one takes a bicycle and a helmet a prize.
Target group(s): Elementary and High School students
Objectives: The main objective of this action is to get students in condact with terms of Sustainable Urban Mobility and to raise awareness to all future road network users.
