Organising a week of activities, taking into account the focal theme.
Actions relative to the theme:
On Thursday 21 September, Plzeň closed part of Majakovského Street where there was an extensive programme for children from the Bolevecká elementary school. Children were given coloured chalk and had a chance to draw on the road and the parking areas.
For three days, public transport was free in Plzeň with the motto “Park your car at home and come with us for free!“
On Saturday 16 September, the race for scooter riders took place in Borský Park; on Tuesday 19 September the organizers ceremonially awarded prizes to the winners of the art competition from Plzeň-based elementary schools. On Wednesday, both children and adults took a trip with the Czech Tourists Club around the city and its surroundings.
On Friday 22 September, there was an event in the Mother centre at Motýl for children, called the “Fairy Tale Garden
Carrying out a Car-Free Day event by closing one or more streets to traffic, and opening it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport. This should preferably happen on 22 September to mark your town or city as part of World Car-Free Day.
