Baile Govora organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2008, taking into account the annual theme.
All week
During 16th to 22nd of September the whole comunity will take part in this action. There will be organised week activities taking into account the 2008 local theme: Clean Air for All.
Permanent measures
Baile Govora implements one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.
New or improved bicycle facilities
Improvement of bicycle facilities (parking, locks etc)
Pedestrianisation
Create or enlarge pedestrian streets
Public transport services
Improvement and extension of the public transport network (creation of HOV lanes for public transport modes, new stops, new lines, reserved areas etc)
Improvement and extension of the public transport services (express services, increase frequency etc)
Traffic calming and access control scheme
Speed reduction programmes in zones near schools
Reduction of outside parking zones
Create park and ride stations
New traffic regulations: traffic circulation and parking

Create the tactile pavements

As a permament measure, the local authority and the school will setup a strong campaign about how to keep the air clean, no polution and a better and clean environment.
Car-free day
Baile Govora carries out a Car-Free Day 2008 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
We want to establish a non-polution area near the central park in Baile Govora. No cars inside the park, no polution. There are rare species of trees and flowers and we must conserve them.
