VIA LAGRANGE – PEDESTIAN AREA
The pedestrian area of via Lagrange, through the requalification interventions, becomes part of the cultural itineraries of the City centre, giving relevance to the new image that, year by year, redefines Torino as a refined tourist destination.
The requalification intervention has created a wider commercial street for pedestrians only, and increases the value of the architectures in the area.

PIAZZA IV MARZO – REQULIFICATION
The requalification intervention in Piazza IV Marzo completes the broader project of adding value to the Archeological Area in the old town of Torino.
The whole square has been paved in stone with a draw of parallel stripes set perpendicularly to the axis of via IV Marzo, this is a way to stress the pedestrian character of that space.
Special attention has been set on the renewal and improvement of public lightning.

BICYCLES OFFICE
The Bicycles Office of the City of Torino is an instrument of mediation between the urban cyclists and the Public Administration. On the one hand it collaborates with cyclists and their associations in order to collect all their hints and suggestions about the cyclist mobility in Torino; on the other it reports all the suggestions to the Public Administration so that they can have a real effect on the urban area.

Car-free day Car-free day

Torino (Turin) carries out a Car-Free Day 2009 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
Via Roma, one of the main streets of the centre of Torino, will be restricted to private car from 6 a.m. to 22 p.m. on the 22nd of September.

Via Roma is the conjunction between Piazza Castello, the very centre of the City, and Porta Nuova Station. In the middle of Via Roma, you can find famous Piazza San Carlo, recently turned into a pedestrian area.

Games, exhibitions and information activities addressed to all the citizens will be held in via Roma all the day long.
