Ballina, County Mayo organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2010, taking into account the annual theme.
All week
Pedestrianisation of Pearse street, Ballina, for two days of events;
Installation of cycle racks around the town;
School walking trains;
Electric Vehicle demonstration ;
School children can pedal on the world famous River Moy in 'Swan' pedalos;
An Garda Síochána cycling advice sessions for school children;
Public Attitudes survey regarding pedestrianisation and alternative transport modes;
Public Awareness leaflet campaign promoting environmental, social, health and economic benefits of leaving the car at home;
Mid West Radio broadcast from the event from 11am to 1pm on Monday 20th September.

Car-free day
Ballina, County Mayo carries out a Car-Free Day 2010 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
Pearse Street ( the town's main thoroughfare) will be pedestrianised on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st September 2010 to host a series of events related to alternative travel options around Ballina.
