During European Mobility Week 2012 City of Ferrara will announce Council decision about permanent measures concerning the city centre car-restricted area (ZTL):
- vehicles accessing ZTL have to respect Zone30 speed limits (max 30 km/h) and,
- all streets ruled by Zone30 speed limit are accessible to bicycle in the two-ways directions.
Car-free day
Ferrara carries out a Car-Free Day 2012 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
The "In town without my car" day will be held daytime on Sunday, the 16th of September 2012 in the nothern area of the city to help facilitate participation by bicycle or walking to the traditional Baloon Festival.
