Tralee implements one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.
New or improved bicycle facilities
Improvement of bicycle facilities (parking, locks etc)

Improvement of infrastructure (new foot bridges, pavements, road crossings, zebra crossings etc)
Extension or creation of new greenways
work has commneced on that portion of the Tralee Fenit Cycle Way within Tralee town.
Traffic calming and access control scheme
Speed reduction programmes in zones near schools
Traffic calming is ongoing throughout the town with major work carried out in the Mitchels Regeneration area in the creatrion of Home Zones

Installation of 4 no Electric Car charging points in Public Car Parks

Tralee Town Council has recently opened the TRalee Bay Wetlands Centre which has a 3m wide combined Cycle/path way around an amenity lake with Bicycle stands at the side of the Interpretation building. This links up with the River Lee cycle/footpath at the rear of AquaDome, Cinema, Carlton Hotel, etc
Also a covered bicycle stand was installed in the Upper Tannery Car Park in 2012( ie opposite small TESCO)
Further bicycle stands are proposed for the Abbey Car Park in theTown Centre
Planning was granted on Mon 3rd Sept 2012 for the conversion of a discuse railline within Tralee town to provide a Cycle trail of approx 2km, linking Rock St to Mounthawk School.
Car-free day
Tralee carries out a Car-Free Day 2012 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
Tralee Town Square will be closed off to allow for Cycle activities as part of The Bicycle Festival.
Cars will alsp be restricted in areas of the Tralee Bay Wetlands Centre to allow for the Kids Fun Cycle Activities
