- In March 2013, the Municipality of Cesena has activated ICARUS the new video surveillance system to monitor the proper access to limited traffic areas of the historic center of the city.
The project ICARUS is part of the Plan of restricted traffic zones with electronic detection of the openings (2012-13), approved June 2012. The project included the installation of eight electronic gates placed at the main entrances in the downtown area of Cesena in particular:

• VIA CESARE BATTISTI (subito dopo l'incrocio con via Martiri della Libertà)
• VIA MARCHESI ROMAGNOLI
• BARRIERA CAVOUR
• CORSO GARIBALDI (subito dopo l'incrocio con via Aldini)
• CORSO MAZZINI (all'incrocio con piazza della Libertà)
• VIA TIBERTI (all'incrocio con via Isei)
• VIA STRINATI
- In January, 2013 - Approval of the “Plan of the cycle network in the municipality 2013” to create a cycling network more accessible and safe for all, in order to make easier the connection between the city center and surrounding areas with the bike.
- Project Continuity and security of the incomplete sections of the existing cycle routes 2013
- Designed and set up three “park and ride” IPPODROMO, MONTEFIORE and ABBADESSE (the first two opened in 2009 and a third in 2012).

Car-free day Car-free day

Cesena carries out a Car-Free Day 2013 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
