Further info
In order to reduce the concentrations of air pollutants and reduce acute episodes of pollution, the Municipality of Modena from 2002 subscribes to the Program Agreement on regional air quality.
In this document, which is periodically renewed, are contained the planned measures limiting vehicular traffic and emergency measures for the management of critical situations; at the same time there is the will to maintain high public attention to the issues related to air pollution in order to promote the dissemination of transport systems with low impact, alternative to the private car and protecting public health. In the agreement are also provided regional actions aimed at improving the systems of collective mobility (TPL, railways, car sharing, car pooling), initiatives to encourage energy conservation and the use of best available techniques in productive activities. In the agreement there is the permanent measure of “ecological Sundays”.
