On Sept. 22nd the prototype for "pedestrian information pillars" has been put up.

Viennas first shared space zone was implemented on Mariahilfer Straße. The street is one of the most frequented shopping streets in Vienna. The street is corrently under construction, to become a pedestrian area. Parts of the street will be a shared space zone. The construction work will be finished in November 2014.

Air pumps in highly frequented place were installed by the Mobility Agency. Passers-by can use them to inflate the tires of their bycicles. They can also be used for baby strollers or wheelchairs.

Car-free day Car-free day

Wien Wieden carries out a Car-Free Day 2014 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
Car free day event: "Rasen am Ring". the wiener Ringstraße, one of Viennas main streets is closed for traffic, lawn carpet in the middle of the street invites people to have a picknick, experience streets without cars; organized by the NGO "platform car-free city"
