Linz organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2014, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
Blooming street contest for schools
Soft mobilty council (the political representatives were invited to come to their monthly meeting by bike)
Bicycle security training for children
Finishing the constrution works for a new bicycle path

Organic-fair bicycle shopping tour to promote the rental of bicyvle luggages coaches by the city
Support of a bicycle tour from 25 communities around Linz to the city-center to show the importance a good path network
Car free main square on September, 16th
Bicycle breakfast for everyone who goes to work by bicycle on the car free day
Mobility competition by the Upper Austrian Climate Alliance from the city center of Vöcklabruck to Linz. The winner was the combination train/bicycle

Linz implements one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.

Car-free day Car-free day

Linz carries out a Car-Free Day 2014 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
The main square is the "heart of Linz" . From September 2014 it is permenantly car free on saturdays (18-24 o`clock) and sundays and public holidays (0-24 o`clock).
