The Municipality of Cesena, in continuity with the policies of sustainable mobility, has implemented the following projects in 2014 in order to rationalize urban transport and redirect the choices of the citizens of alternative means of transport such as cycling, bus and walking.
- CAR PARK EXCHANGERS: designing three car park (the first two opened in 2009 and third in 2012 enabled) connected to the historic center of the city with natural gas buses, to reduce commuter traffic that require a long layover to work within the city center.
- CYCLE MOBILITY: start of implementation of the “Plan of the cycle network in the municipality 2013” to create a cycling network more accessible and safe for all citizens.
- BIKE SHARING: strengthening and expansion of the network cycling and the bike-sharing "Io Mi Muovo”. This project allows the rapid and automatic hire a bicycle through the signing of an annual subscription. The same subscription can be used in all 13 cities in the region that currently have joined the project.
- PEDESTRIAN MOBILITY (project Piedibus): activated in 2009 with the aim of promoting pedestrian mobility of children in the paths "to and from school" involving schools, families and districts of the city (in 2012, 500 children involved).
