Madrid organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2014, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
First year of «In Town Without My Car!» event in a very representative street and
Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, in consultation with the Mobility Board, gathering the main local stakeholders.
Remodel an area, next to Retiro Park, to extend pedestrian space and introduce bike lane.
70 km new bike lanes, most of them coexistence ones in the e-bike sharing zone.

Car-free day Car-free day

Madrid carries out a Car-Free Day 2014 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
Calle Mayor, one of the most representative streets in the city, along the city center, from Real Palace, linking Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. Traffic will be restricted from 8:00 to 14:30 on Sunday, September 21st.

Traditional traffic restriction in Fuencarral St. on Sundays will be extended to Eloy Gonzalo St., doubling its surface, from 8:00 to 14:30 on September 21st.
