Vicenza implements one or more new permanent measure(s), which contribute(s) to modal transfer from private car to environmentally sound means of transport.

1) Completion of the remaining 500 m of an important bike lane connecting the west suburban area to the town center
2) Broadening of the Limited Traffic Zone and Pedestrian Areas
3) Establishment of residential traffic area through moderate speed limit (30Km/h)

5) Securing intersections of an historic and important cycle lane
6) Start of public transport on demand service in the evening

Car-free day Car-free day

Vicenza carries out a Car-Free Day 2014 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
In Town without my car, 21 Sept 2014, h. 10.00-18.00.
Sunday, September 21 will be prohibited from movement to all motor vehicles from 10 to 18 in the historical center and other periferic more populous suburbs.
