Participation 2015

The participant is committed to:

Organising a week of activities, taking into account the focal theme.
Actions relative to the theme:
public transport (city buses) will be free during the European Mobility Week 2015

promotional materials (fact sheets on climate change and motorised transport, as well as on sustainable mobility alternatives, prize competition coupons, giveaways - branded fair-trade chocolate bars and stickers saying "fewer cars, more sustainable mobility alternatives") are being handed out to cyclists, pedestrians and public transport users during the EMW 2015

kids attending the local kindergartens and elementary schools are participating in the sustainable rural and urban mobility campaign "Climate Miles 2015" and in a street painting contest ("Streets in Bloom" - the kids are turning the grey concrete areas surrounding their kindergartens and schools into colourfully blooming playgrounds)

students of the local elementary and secondary schools are being rewarded for riding their bicycles to school with ice cream

"Traunradeln" - "Cycling through Traun" - public bicycle ride: members of the city council and citizens are being invited to join the public bicycle ride on highly frequented streets in the city, this is being accompanied by a poster campaign in all districts of Traun; the participating cyclists are being provided with branded safety jackets, saying "Car-free Day - sustainable, clever and healthy cycling" and are being served fair-trade products
Carrying out a Car-Free Day event by closing one or more streets to traffic, and opening it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport. This should preferably happen on 22 September to mark your town or city as part of World Car-Free Day.
