Oslo organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2015, taking into account the annual theme.

All week
On September 16th we are organizing an opening event for European Mobility Week in Oslo; it is a drive-in screening of the brand new documentary "Bikes vs. cars" (www.bikes-vs-cars.com).

On September 18th, the City of Oslo together with Institute of Transport Economics (TØI), are organizing a free seminar called "In town without my car". Program and registration: www.toi.no/kollektivtrafikk-areal-og-transportplanlegging/18-september-i-byen-uten-bilen-article33324-224.html

On Car Free Day 22nd of September we are among others distributing 4000 hangtags on bikes to encourage biking and give a reminder that you are allowed to bring your bike for free on the subway out of rush hours. On the same day we are distributing 5000 'flyers' on cars communicating the EMW theme: leave your car at home and choose a mix of other transport modes in stead.

Car-free day Car-free day

Oslo carries out a Car-Free Day 2015 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
The City of Oslo will not close any streets to traffic. Instead, we are encouraging everybody to participate in Car Free Day simply by not driving their cars. We have created a Facebook event to mobilize people, and on Car Free Day we are distributing 4000 bike seat rain covers, 4000 bike hangtags and 5000 flyers on cars to communicate Car Free Day, green mobility and green transport mix. There will be pop-up street theatre in Oslo all day based on the book "If there were no cars" by Hilde Hodnefjeld.

On August 31st The Norwegian Automobile Association (NAF) launched their campaign "Kampen om tiden" (kampenomtiden.no). They encourage commuters between Asker and Oslo to participate in a spectacular experiment and change their travel behaviour on 22/9.
