Kocasinan, Kayseri organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2019, taking into account the annual theme.

16 September
Kocasinan Municipality has designed various activities and programs to make permanent the theme of “Safe walking and cycling” between the dates of 16th and 22nd September due to European Mobility (Sustainable Urban Transport) Week. In this context, Kocasinan district is Ready to say “Let's walk together!” to increase walking and cycling transportation with the campaign that invites to use alternative transportation ways.

As Kocasinan Municipality, the events within the framework of the campaign are listed below.

1. Preparing brochures about explaining the importance and necessity of walking, cycling and the use of public transports instead of private vehicles in order to relieve traffic and Handing out these brochures to the target audience. These brochures will also include cycling techniques and will be supported by posters.

2. In the cleaning service in our district, “Bicycled Cleaning Teams” will be used to both relieving traffic and being encouraged bicycle riding.

3. Initiating a study in cooperation with the Directorate of National Education, students and even teachers will be encouraged to cycle or walk in school transport, and bicycle parking spaces will be provided for determined schools.

4. Bicycles will be gift to students who create awareness in various branches or who have achieved significant success.

5. Citizens who do not know and request to ride bicycles will be taught to ride bicycles and necessary sensitivities in terms of technical and rules .

6. Members of the Kocasinan Municipality Children's Club will cooperate with the Police Department on busy streets to create a perception about the superiority of pedestrians and cyclists in traffi

The municipal staff, mainly Mr. Ahmet Çolakbayrakdar, Mayor of Kocasinan Municipality, will come to work on foot, by bicycle or by public transportation. Within this framework, all municipal employees will come to the city center by walking, cycling or public transportation up to Cumhuriyet Square, where they will meet Mayor Çolakbayrakdar. To reach the Municipal Service Building on foot or by bicycle and will be prevented the use of vehicles in all municipal services throughout the day. Municipal car parks will remain empty that day in order to ensure the integrity of perception
