9.00-14.00 The car-free day of the European Mobility week "Valmiera for the people" - Discover the city, walk and cycle with us. Zilonu street closed for traffic. Demonstration and public hearing of the reconstruction project of Zilonu street to the Theatre square. Demonstration of the new thematic planning "Development conception of Valmiera transportaiton infrastructure" - offering a cyclists and pedestriants involvement game on voting for the best solutions for traffic situations within Valmiera city area and presenting the ideas covered withing the new conception; cyclists involvement in riding bike rides through Valmiera proposing their new city site-seeing and touristic cycling routs and also giving feedback on the necessary cycling infrastructure needs. Mobility related activities led by other stakeholders.

Car-free day Car-free day

Valmiera carries out a Car-Free Day 2019 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
On 21st of September whole Zilonu street in Valmiera, additionally proposing a speed reduction zone on Lacplesa street where Valmiera theater meets Zilonu street (future Theater square).
