Safe School Zones
The aim of the Safe School Zone is to remove cars from the school gate to allow children to walk or cycle the last part of the journey to school. Parents are asked not to park at the school gate as the volume of drop off traffic creates hazardous conditions for both pedestrians and cyclists. Furthermore, idling engines and exhausts at school gates is damaging for young lungs. A walk or cycle is the best way to start the school day!

St Canice’s National School have created their Safe School Zone and Loreto are commencing this week.
Gaelscoil continue to promote active travel to school and recorded a record number of cyclists this week with over 70 children cycling or scooting to school.
