Tehran organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2020, taking into account the annual theme.

22 September
Tehran has been conducting a Car-Free Tuesdays campaign for months. During this period, Tehran has encouraged people to use bicycles more and as an example, the Mayor cycles to his office every Tuesday. This week, Tuesday coincides with 22 September, the last day of Europan Mobility Week and World Car-Free Day. Other activities of Tehran on this day includes:
1. Mayor's administrative order to Municipality's directors to commute to their offices without cars on the day
2. Mayor's order to all 22 Municipality's district mayors to complete their administrative missions with bicycles on the day
3. Blocking 22 streets in 22 districts of Tehran for cars, and allocating them to pedestrians, cyclists and scooters
4. Cycling event with the presence of the Mayor, city managers and foreign ambassadors
5. Launching IOS version of the bicycle sharing application of Tehran
6. Launching a drawing competition about cycling titled 'Naghshe Charkh'
7. Presenting awards to cyclists who had earned highest awards in bicycle sharing application of Tehran

Tehran carries out a Car-Free Day 2020 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Tehran is consisted of 22 districts and each district has assigned one car-free street for 22 September during two hours in the afternoon.
