Glavni grad Podgorica (Capital City Podgorica) organises activities during EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2023, taking into account the annual theme.

EMW's activities will be implemented every day between 16 and 22 September
16 September
Tree planing in order to create a tree line in the vicinity of an elementary school, aimed at improving walkin infrastructure and incite schoolchildren to walk to school instead of parents driving them to school.
Official announcement of the EMW activities in Podgorica by City officials and partners (representatives of the EU delegation, UNDP, GIZ, NGO partners. The ceremony is linked with the City Film Festival (Džada Film Festival) promoting use of public space by people, not cars.
17 September
Kidical mass starting in the city centre and ending in the Children's Park with the workshop ("Džadionica") with animators; feature children's film screening (Džada Film Festival for kids) preceeded by a short eco-film made by children.
18 September
Promotion of new public buss lines and the use of public busss by children and youth (instead of parents driving them to/from school). Focus on children's safety in traffic. Promotional ride with kids being instructed how to use the busses safely followed by a quiz game with a bike as the prize for the top-ranked quiz participant. Activities for secondary school students in a city center park promoting traffic safety.
19 September
Public discussion - City SUMP - state of play. Needs for revisions. Meeting of the working group that made the SUMP in 2020 and the stakeholders that participated in its creation. Creation of Podgorica SUMP is an example of good practice that should be replicated and used for other strategic planning documents.
20 September
Accessiblity and inclusive mobility in Podgorica - simulation of mobility issues for persons with dissabilities in Podgorica: persons without dissabilities are using wheelchairs or simulate walking of blind persons in order to better understand the obstructions preventing use of public space by all.
21 September
Workshop on urban mobility for the new Podgorica local assembly members in the Europe house in Pogorica - presentation of the urban mobility concept for those local parliament members who took office in 2023. Presentation of the results of a EU-funded project TRIBUTE (Integrated and Innovative Actions for Sustanabe Urban Mobility Upgrade).

Critical mass cykling ride and Eco-friendly Fassion Show on the Car-Free Millenium bridge in Podgorica.

Car-free day Car-free day

Glavni grad Podgorica (Capital City Podgorica) carries out a Car-Free Day 2023 and closes off one or more streets to traffic, and opens it to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.

Zone opened to residents on Car-Free Day:
Millenium Bridge over Morača river will be closed for motor vehicles and a fashion show with designs made of eco-friendly and recycled materials. Simultaneously, streets will be closed for the new edition of a cycling critical mass.
